Wellfleet Preservation Hall
At a previous show at Wellfleet Preservation Hall, Claudia Nygaard was heard to quip “if you really apply yourself look how far you can go… I started out a singing waitress at the Woodshed in Brewster, and now I’m all the way up here in Wellfleet!” While she has played in 48 of the 50 states and ten foreign countries since those days at “the Shed”, she can’t do a release tour for her new album “To Race The Wind” without a stop on the Cape, and she is delighted to be returning to Prez Hall for it!
Claudia is a mesmerizing storyteller and a cinematic lyricist who learned her craft as a staff songwriter for a publishing company on Nashville’s Music Row. She has won numerous songwriting awards including the Kerrville Folk Festival and Tumbleweed Music Festival songwriting competitions, and her songs are heartfelt, humorous, scrappy, and sensual. Her masterful storytelling extends to her performance as well, as she weaves her songs in between outlandish monologues with a quick wit and a complete lack of self-censorship. Combined with a powerful, resonant, and deeply emotive voice and daredevil’s vulnerability, Claudia’s performance is one you won’t want to miss!
