Wellfleet Public Library

Bob Wells is the owner and manager of New England Biochar LLC, based in Eastham. The company makes biochar, a charcoal-like material made from waste wood that can hold onto nutrients and water in the soil, making them much more available to plants. Manufacturing and applying biochar is a recognized way of capturing and tying up carbon in the soil for centuries, thus keeping it from returning to the atmosphere in the form of CO2.
