Mass Audubon - Wellfleet Bay

October 21 - 11:00 - 2:00

Fall means time for hangouts by the fire, flannel shirts, pumpkin, well, everything, and this year, Flocktober! Spend time outdoors, make a fish print, watch our bird banding team at work, listen to music and get up-close with a screech owl. Best part? You can get your fill of food from Wild Game Sausage Man and enjoy a cold beer.

Schedule of events:

  • 11 AM-2 PM: Live guitar music performed by Mark T. Small

  • 11 AM-Noon and 1-2 PM: Aquarium Tours with Wellfleet Bay Aquarist Zach Ouellette

  • 11 AM-12:30 PM: Bird Banding station open house

  • 11 AM-2 PM: Fish printing craft; bring your own t-shirt or buy one for $5.

  • 11 AM-2 PM: Bring your nature and wildlife ID questions and pictures to Science Coordinator and host of WCAI's "Bird News" Mark Faherty at the Stump the Naturalist table.

  • 1-2 PM: Live screech owl presentation with Wild Care Cape Cod.

Also enjoy poetry readings, a nature craft with Wild Care Cape Cod, playing in the nature play area and exploring Wellfleet Bay's 5-miles of trails!

This event is free with membership or paid sanctuary admission.

This event is part of Mass Audubon's first ever Flocktober. Meet your flock at one of the seven festivals happening at wildlife sanctuaries across the state.
