Welcome to Brazilian Embroidery, also
known as Three-Dimensional Embroidery. The beautiful dimensional technique is done by using a twisted rayon Brazilian thread. Petals of flowers are made by wrapping thread around the needle, casting on to the needle, or making bars of thread and putting loops on the bars, thus allowing the petals to stand up and away from the surface of the fabric. For this project, we will employ the latter technique with a special iridescence thread. Participants will create a flower with raised petals.
Presented by the Friends of the Wellfleet Library.
