Lyne Lapointe: Life Jacket

Farm Projects will feature Canadian artist Lyne Lapointe’s Life Jacket woodcuts on Tuesday, September 22, for a special one-day event.

This series has been part of Lapointe’s artistic practice since 2018, the Life Jacket series brings together richly textured woodcuts that consider themes of vulnerability, protection, displacement, and the human relationship to public space. Selected prints from the series have also appeared as part of Lapointe’s guerrilla art campaign, installed in unexpected locations including the American Museum of Natural History and public parks.

Lapointe and her partner, filmmaker Nancy Marcotte, have spent time annually in Wellfleet for many years, developing a longstanding connection to the Cape and its landscape. This one-day presentation at Farm Projects offers an opportunity to encounter the Life Jacket works in this particular place and context.

Lapointe was recently named a recipient of the 2026 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts, one of Canada’s leading national recognitions for artistic achievement. She is represented by Jack Shainman Gallery in New York.
