Mike Parlante Shore Lore & Grant Tour

Power’s Landing Parking Lot

Mike Parlante, Wellfleet Oysterman, Historian and Resident Archeologist has graciously offered to bring us for an afternoon tour of his oyster and clam farm on Chequessett Neck in Wellfleet. We will learn the history of famous Wellfleet icons such as the “Elephant House”, Smith’s Tavern, and those special characters who have lived and worked on our waters for centuries. Dress for the weather and wear short rubber boots if you have them. It is a 10 minute walk on uneven beach terrain, including soft sand and a little mud to reach Mike’s grant.
