ARTIST’S STATEMENT
”We live in an animate universe with an ever evolving vital source. Our natural habitat is made up of community: living organisms (plants, animals microbes) that interact with weather, soil water, and sunlight to support the existence of the whole. Daily, as I hike around the Cape with my canine companion Odo, I experience atmosphere and sound, observe flora and fauna, and am fascinated by the multitude of patterns that occur in nature. The memory of these wanderings are my inspiration. I would like my work to communicate something about diversity and the spirit that permeates our world.
This exhibition includes work created using printmaking techniques. Most of these compositions are monoprints, or one-of-a-kind works on paper. Some are editioned prints. If the imagery makes you think about the planet as a fragile place that shelters life, if it lets you experience a little joy, it is enough for me.”
