Mia Cross “Patchwork”

Artist talk on Saturday, August 9th at 5 pm.

On Exhibit: July 31 - August 12

25 Bank St., Wellfleet

Please join us for the opening reception of “Patchwork” a solo exhibition by Mia Cross on Saturday, August 2nd at 5-8 pm.

“Patchwork” is a selection of paintings created by Mia Cross over the past year and a half. Patchwork can be defined as “cloth made by sewing together lots of smaller pieces of cloth with different patterns and colors.” While this title speaks to Mia’s ongoing interest in textiles, quilts, and the act of sewing, it is also a nod to the diverse collection of paintings in this show. Many were conceived of and created in Santa Fe, New Mexico where Mia lived for much of the past two years, while others have been painted since being back on the East Coast. Some explore dreams and “what ifs?” while others examine faces and memories. The common threads include explorations of color, the human figure, place, and story-telling.
