"Off Season" A body of photographic works by Agata Storer

Agata has lived year-round on Cape Cod for the past five years and works as a staff photographer for the Provincetown Independent. Moving each year between winter rentals, seasonal housing, and temporary accommodations on her father-in-law’s property has shaped her experience of life on Cape Cod and inspired her latest project. The work focuses on young people who originally not native to this land have chosen to remain on the Cape despite the challenges of housing insecurity, limited employment opportunities, and the social isolation that often accompanies the winter season.In this series, nature becomes both a refuge and a protagonist. Storer creates a surreal relationship between people and the landscape, imagining nature as the force that literally holds young people on Cape Cod. The project draws inspiration from the magical realism of writer Julio Cortázar, whose work often blurs the boundaries between reality and imagination. Some of the individuals portrayed in the project have since chosen to leave Cape Cod for personal reasons.

Her exhibition is on view from October 1st through October 19th.

There will be an artist talk on Saturday, October 3rd at 4PM, preceding the opening reception.
