Paul Revere Resists! A (very) Short Play

As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington-Concord, the start of the Revolutionary War, this fresh reading of the classic Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem Paul Revere’s Ride highlights personal stories of Americans in that historical moment and this contemporary one - ordinary people standing up to kings. The Wellfleet production is part of a nationwide event, with readings being held in living rooms, bookstores, theaters, bars, places of worship, parks, and backyards in Boston, Chicago, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, New York City, Michigan, Texas, and Wisconsin, with more productions being added daily.
With a running time of only about half an hour, Paul Revere Resists will prompt discussion, support solidarity, and energize defiance of the brutal betrayal by the Trump regime of all that Americans fought and died for, beginning with that legendary midnight ride. Please join us!

The free reading features actors, Amanda Collins, David Fraioli, Carryl Lynn, Lewis Wheeler, Bates Wilder and is directed by Jeff Zinn.
