Julia Lisella's latest collection of poems, Our Lively Kingdom (Bordighera Press), was chosen as a finalist in the 2023 Paterson Poetry Prize and Grand Prize Finalist and Poetry Honorable Mention for the Eric Hoffer Book Award. Other poetry collections include Always, Terrain, and the chapbook, Love Song Hiroshima. Her poems are widely anthologized and are forthcoming or have appeared in The Common, Ploughshares, Nimrod, Pangyrus, On the Seawall, Paterson Literary Review, MER, Italian Americana, and many others. She is a professor of English at Regis College and co-curates the Italian American Writers Association Reading Series in Boston.
Wellfleet has long been a source of inspiration for her work. Judith Sanders' poetry collection In Deep was recently published by Kelsay Books. Her work appears in numerous journals, including Pleiades, Calyx, The American Scholar, and Modern Language Studies; on the websites Vox Populi, Humor Darling, and Full Grown People; and in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She won a major humor poetry prize. She has a B.A. in literature from Yale, an M.A. in creative writing from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in English from Tufts. She taught English at universities and independent schools, and in France on a Fulbright Fellowship. She now lives with her family in Pittsburgh. Wellfleet has been part of her life since 1958.
