Playwriting: The Crash Course - A Workshop with Paula Vogel
Paula Vogel, award-winning playwright, has taught playwriting for over 40 years: to other playwrights, but most of all, to people who have never written a play before. This 3-hour course is offered in the spirit that everyone can write a play - if they want to! We will discuss approaches, playful exercises, and hopefully end with a group exercise that Paula calls the bake-off.
Bring computers, notebooks, pens. First-come, first-served.
Paula Vogel is a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright whose plays include Mother Play (Tony nomination for Best Play), Indecent (Tony nomination for Best Play), How I Learned to Drive (Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Tony nomination, the Lortel Prize, OBIE Award, Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle and New York Drama Critics Awards for Best Play), The Long Christmas Ride Home, The Mineola Twins, The Baltimore Waltz, Hot'N'Throbbing, Desdemona, And Baby Makes Seven, The Oldest Profession and A Civil War Christmas.
