Robert has been photographing Blackfish Creek at the end of Pleasant Point and Paine Hollow for the past fifteen years. He employs a variety of photographic methodologies from landscape photography to abstraction and in-camera double exposure. The oldest piece in the show is from 2014 and the latest was captured in October 2023.
Robert Johnson received his MFA in Theater from UC San Diego. He had a 12-year New York City career as a director, producer, and stage manager. He dedicated himself full-time to photography in 2008. His work has been shown in galleries throughout the US and in Europe. He divides his time between New York City and Wellfleet. He teaches Photojournalism as Art at The New York Times Summer Academy and is a member of the Soho Photo Gallery in New York City. He is a speaker advocate for Transgender youth with PFLAG in the NYC Public Schools. He is a regular photo contributor to The Provincetown Independent. His radio shows Blackfish Creak and Nighthawk Radio can be heard on WOMR.
A portion of the artists proceeds will be donated to IFAW (International
Fund for Animal Welfare) who specialize in Marine Mammal Rescue and
Research.
