Two Sessions: Friday, February 6 and February 13, 2026, 11:30AM – 1:30 PM

Join Tia Scalcione from Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater (WHAT) for an enchanting creative experience! In this special two-session workshop, you'll step into the captivating world of theatrical masking traditions, then craft your own unique, expressive mask with all materials provided and plenty of gentle guidance to spark your imagination. The first session will begin with an introduction to the history of masking in theater, inspired by various cultural traditions. Instruction will then be given on creative approaches to the project and working with the materials provided..Encouragement and guidance are provided to inspire creativity, risk taking and working beyond comfort zones.

Your finished mask will be proudly displayed in a gallery exhibition on WHAT's 2nd floor, celebrated with an opening reception for participants, family, and friends (date/time TBA—invitations to follow).

The cost is $5 per person (covers materials; generously underwritten by the Friends of the Wellfleet Council on Aging to keep it accessible). No prior experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to play!
