Based out of the Woods Hole Oceano- graphic Institute, the DSV ALVIN has made over 5,000 dives all over the ocean. Join photographer and seaman Craig Dickson as he shares images taken from the ALVIN's many missions around the Atlantic Islands, including Iceland, Bermuda, and the Azores. The islands were port stays while the Atlantis 2 and Atlantis were working in the Atlantic Ocean, and they provided a picturesque temporary home tor the ALVIN and its crew on multiple scientific missions. See rare underwater photographs taken during these historic dives, including from the ALVIN's most famous discovery - the wreck of the RMS Titanic!

Craig Dickson served for 34 years on vessels of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and retired as second mate. The vessels he sailed aboard include the LuLu, the Atlantis II, the Knorr, and the Atlantis. In his earlier years, he sailed as a seaman, progressing on to sail as an officer on the Atlantis, Atlantis Il, and the Knorr. He lives in Falmouth.
