DUE TO WEATHER, THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED
With its position on the Atlantic flyway and its potent mix oceans, bays, marshes, dunes, and thickets, the Cape is one of the best spots for birding on the east coast. From the Cape Cod National Seashore to Nickerson State Park, birds of all categories can be spotted on the Outer Cape, including wintery waterfowl to summer shorebirds. Mark Faherty from the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will discuss the best of birding on Cape Cod, including where to go and what to look for through the seasons, as well as the natural history of a strange and misunderstood species: the Cape Cod Birder.
Mark has been the Science Coordinator at Mass Audubon's Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary since August 2007 and has led birding trips for Mass Audubon since 2002. He is
past president of the Cape Cod Bird Club and current member of the Massachusetts Avian Records Committee. Mark Faherty writes the Weekly Bird Report for WCAl.
