Underneath the Lintel by Glen Berger opened in New York in 2001 and has been seen all over the world. The play stars John Shuman as an eccentric librarian who goes on an around-the-world quest when he receives a strange book, 113 years overdue. His riotous and often moving search uncovers an ancient myth that leads to a climactic spiritual awakening. Shuman's acclaimed performance proves we can find joy despite all evidence to the contrary.
