Waste No Water Tour: Building on Our May Visit to Wellfleet Building on our visit to Wellfleet's Library on May 13, Barnstable County's Waste Water Division returns to discuss Cape Cod's ongoing nitrogen challenges and innovative septic solutions. The Waste No Water Library Tour is a library series to engage the public in over ten Cape towns, focusing on the wastewater successes and challenges each town faces. We'll invite local boards of health, pond groups, homeowners, water advocates and anyone interested in the topic of wastewater to gather and better understand how innovative/alternative systems are just one important piece of the ongoing wastewater puzzle. Barnstable County's Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Tech Center (MASSTC), will be on hand to educate and support questions around Cape Cod's wastewater woes with a focus on Innovative/Alternative (I/A) septic systems. With new regulations requiring l/A systems in designated nitrogen-sensitive natural resource areas, getting educated is key.
