What makes the Wellfleet oyster special and desired worldwide? Against the backdrop of Wellfleet Harbor, participants learn the history of the famous Wellfleet oyster, from its use by Native Americans to what you see on your plate today. We meet at the L-Pier (the wooden pier to the left of Mac’s on the Pier) to join former WHS&M president and commercial oysterman Dwight Estey for an entertaining and informative look at an industry that is synonymous with Wellfleet.

This 60–90-minute tour covers areas of the town pier and is wheelchair friendly.

Cost is $20, children get free admission (accompanied by an adult).
