Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater
MULTI MEDIA MASK MAKING
Ages 13 – 18
Thursdays 3:30 – 5:00, starting March 13 (6 sessions)
Instructor: Mike Sullivan
Through mixed media mask making, participants of the class can experiment with different techniques to make a personal wearable piece of art. With paper mache, recycled materials, found objects, and natural elements, participants can work toward a visual piece that can be incorporated into a performance or photography opportunity. While using creative techniques to build a mask or object of their own, students are able to playfully explore ideas of self expression and authenticity.
Mike Sullivan is an artist and musician. His work includes sculptural headwear made with materials ranging from natural objects to jewelry and broken mirror. Mike immersed himself in the queer communities in Provincetown and New York City and discovered a passion for portrait and documentary photography. With roots in the theatre, Mike has produced several concerts and collaborations with other singers and musicians as fundraisers for different causes in Provincetown where he currently works and lives.
Tuition for each class is $25. Full scholarships are available to any student. Transportation to WHAT may be available from schools, please ask Tia for more information.
