These free workshops are for young film-lovers and young filmmakers interested in filmmaking.
Learn every aspect of filmmaking with professional filmmakers. These workshops will help you to develop and create a short, narrative or documentary which you are welcome to submit to our Wellfleet Youth Film Festival by August 22nd.
This year the 7th Annual Wellfleet Youth Film Festival takes place on Friday August 29th!
It's open to youth filmmakers from all over from ages 10-18, some classes are better suited for teens. Please see descriptions. Learn from the pros! Choose from a single class, a single day or all days and classes.
FRIDAY August 8th
10am-1pm SMARTPHONE FILMMAKING with Claude Kerven (recommended for teens)
TEACHER BIO Screenwriter, TV writer and professor Claude Kerven teaches Smartphone Filmmaking. Claude won an Academy Award for Best Dramatic Student Film for "Candy Store and received an Emmy Award for his after school special, "Starstruck". He's directed over 25 short films for Saturday Night Live, including the much celebrated "Synchronized Swimmers." His most recent directorial work, "They Never Found Her," stars Madmen's Elisabeth Moss and Fargo's Peter Stormare. Claude co-wrote "Mortal Thoughts," for Columbia Pictures, starring Bruce Willis, Harvey Keitel and Demi Moore. Claude's bee the Chair of the 1-Year and 2-Year Filmmaking Programs at the New York Film Academy, for 30 years.
