2025 Herring Counters - Wellfleet

Attention all returning and new volunteer Herring Counters for Herring River, Wellfleet.

Everyone, regardless of whether a volunteer or not, is welcome to attend an informative and fun workshop to prepare for the annual herring run. Save the date for the workshop:

Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:30 am- 12:30 pm - Wellfleet Public Library

Speaker: Abigail Archer, Fisheries and Aquaculture Specialist, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. Abby will talk about the life history of River Herring and juveniles, including information on stock assessments and how herring count data is used on Cape Cod.

She's also likely to pilot a few herring-themed games. Join us!
