Wellfleet’s Resident of Fame: The Oyster with Dwight Estey of the Wellfleet Historical Society

  • Welfleet ACC 715 Old Kings Highway Wellfleet, MA, 02667 United States (map)

Wellfleet Adult Community Center

Dwight Estey will present the life story of Wellfleet’s most famous resident - the Wellfleet Oyster! Having been both a wild-picker and a shellfish farmer, he’s walked the flats observing the changes in the Wellfleet oyster fishery for over 50 years. What he doesn’t know firsthand about the shellfish industry, he’s learned through research and talking to many “old-timers.” If you have attended one of Dwight’s presentations in  the past, you know he is filled with wit and wisdom and his talks are not to be missed!

This presentation is the first of a series, during the month of May, where we are bringing the flats” and the people who work them to you.
